VICTORY LANE INDOOR KARTING

Victory Lane is very different from other indoor tracks.  We offer real side by side racing.  Each race is run just like they do it at real race tracks with two kart wide rolling starts, and if a caution comes out we re-align the field and do it all again.  Each race is run by completed laps, not by a time limit. Our races last between 35 and 100 laps!  The first driver to cross the line and take the checkered flag is the winner.

TRUE FACTS:  We will pull the following true facts off our web site just as soon as the owner of Maine Indoor Karting cleans up all the false and misleading information on their web site concerning Victory Lane.

I am sorry if anyone finds the following true facts offensive.  For two years now Maine Indoor Karting has been spreading false and misleading information and it's time to set the record straight...

YES- Victory Lane does have insurance and YES- our racers do sign a waivor form.  YES we do have a full time track manager and full time mechanics and YES- we do care about our customers safety!

----FACT:  MAINE INDOOR KARTING "CLAIMS" THEY ARE THE SAFEST RACING FACILITY IN NEW ENGLAND....The truth is that many people have suffered injuries racing there.  A Scarborough rescue worker told us of the many times an ambulance had to be rushed to the MIK facility to assist hurt and injured customers with various injuries including broken ribs, neck and back injuries.  Former employees of Maine Indoor Karting have also told us about many injuries that occurred while they were working there and many former customers of MIK have told us about injuries they suffered while racing over there in Scarborough.  We sincerely hope that the young boy who was injured while racing at Maine Indoor Karting over April vacation is not still hurt.  We understand that once again, an ambulance had to be called to their facility to attend to the young boy.  At Victory Lane we designed our track with soft walls that move upon any impact and our karts have a real roll cage and both NASCAR shoulder and lap belts to protect the drivers.  Why does Maine Indoor Karting continue to state that they are the safest facility in New England?  Fact is they are not the safest in Maine, let alone New England.  At Victory lane we have never had to call for an ambulance to aid any racer and we have never had any racer injured.  Our safety record is far superior to that of Maine Indoor Karting.

____FACT:  We agree totally with the advice that Maine Indoor Karting has on every page of there web site when they say "RACE YOUR WAY TO VICTORY LANE" ; just don't get a speeding ticket getting here.  You'll have more fun and pay less to race and get more track time at Victory Lane.

____FACT:  At MIK in Scarborough on certain days they race around a rectangle and call it an oval track.  Too bad for them that Four straight-a-ways connected at the ends makes a square or a rectangle, not an oval.

We appoligize for putting this information out for the public to see and it is not the way we choose to do business, but it seems like this might be the only way to have Maine Indoor Karting remove al it's false and misleading information concerning Victory Lane.  They continue to spread false information about us including telling people that we don't have insurance.  We wish that they would stop worrying about us over here in Portland and just run their own business and we encourage them to clean up the misleading information on their web site.  We wish Maine Indoor Karting well.
